Tinghir is a city in east-central Morocco, in the region of Draa-Tafilalet, located in the Todgha Valley, at the exit of the High Atlas and facing the djebel Saghro. It is an immense oasis extending over about 30 km in length and varying in width between 200m upstream and 4 km downstream. The climate of the Tinghir region is arid, (140mm / year, irregularly), with cool winters, related to altitude (1430 m on average), and latitude (31 ° 30 °).It has been the capital of Tinghir Province since its creation in 2009, and was previously part of the province of Ouarzazate. Tineghir, like its region, is populated mainly by Amazigh (Berbers).The Tineghir region is stuck between two mountainous massifs, extending over more than 700 km, from south-west to northeast of Morocco: the Central High Atlas in the north culminating at over 4,100 m (Ighil Mgoun). The djebel Saghro to the south, natural continuity of the Anti-Atlas.
